We're looking for a mentor
for our Alpha Sprint interns

Our Alpha Sprint interns, Chang Liu and Alice Li, are a few weeks into their program. They're doing real work - developing quantitative strategies, testing theses, building research infrastructure. But there's a dimension to this field that no amount of backtesting can fully replicate: the perspective of someone who has been doing it for years.

We want to give them that.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has spent meaningful time developing systematic or quantitative strategies. Not necessarily a household name. Not necessarily someone with a formal title. Just someone who has lived the work long enough to have a real story - how they found what worked, what didn't, and what they'd tell themselves starting out.

The format is simple: a video call, no formal agenda. Show up, talk about your path. The failures are just as valuable as the wins. We'd ask you to share how you discovered the approaches that held up, the dead ends you remember most, and whatever advice you'd pass along to someone new to the field.

Why It Matters

Quantitative finance has an unusually steep tacit knowledge curve. The frameworks you can read about and the judgment you develop in practice are two different things. Chang and Alice are technically strong - what a mentor brings is texture: the kind of hard-won perspective that doesn't fit in a textbook or a research paper.

We take seriously our responsibility to develop the people who work with us. Bringing in a practitioner who can speak candidly about their own experience is part of that.
