Welcoming our new
Quantitative Strategy Intern

We're pleased to announce that Angad Bhatti has joined Light Water Capital as a Quantitative Strategy Intern on our Systematic Strategies team.

Angad joins the existing intern cohort to do two things at once: extend the research already underway, and take ownership of strategies of his own. He will work directly with our founder and alongside the other interns, from the first week.

What He'll Be Working On

The first job is an audit. Light Water runs common stock strategies live with its own capital, and every model drifts over time. Angad will review those models for performance gaps and mathematical drift, then help adjust the logic so it holds up in the current market regime.

The second is building. New strategies, across multiple asset classes, owned end to end: research, foundational modeling, testing, and iteration. Each one gets validated with our in-house tools, including July Backtester, our open-source Python engine, using Monte Carlo simulation, walk-forward analysis, and regime detection, with slippage, liquidity constraints, and fees built in. The ones that hold up are prepared for deployment against real capital.

More broadly, Angad will work on the research behind our strategies: testing ideas, stress-testing assumptions, and turning market data into models we can trust. Further efforts will go toward long-term planning of our data harness, Forex and futures probability research, and helping to roll out our internal forward-testing logic.

That includes Angad, and we hope to share his research here as it develops.
